I regularly use Nearpod in my live-led classes as an Instructor. I use the external tools submission to ensure the student reports are generated and show up in speedgrader. When first clicking on the assignment, students are asked to sign in, but their info is autofilled from Canvas and they are unable to type in an Optional Name in the box provided. I spoke with Nearpod support, and they said it might be a Canvas issue. I have a student whose name on Canvas is different from their preferred name, and our school is unable to change it in Canvas because their parents are not accepting and are Observers for their child's account. Is there any work around that would allow the student to change the name that appears in Nearpod? I want them to be comfortable in class.
