Students sitting in pending

I now teach in a facility that students are not allowed internet access to get to the canvas site. But I'd like to use the site primarily for my gradebook. Is there a way to add students, without having to require an approval by them? Right now the names would just sit as pending.

Hi  @emily_wible  Welcome to the Canvas Community!

I just tested to verify, and even though a student user is listed in People as "Pending" they still show up in the Gradebook, individual grade reports, and SpeedGrader.

You should be good to go!

To add on to this question — If a student is listed as "pending" in the Canvas Course and I change their grade to meet the requirements, will be they automatically be issued a certificate in Catalog if I have it set up? Or will they not receive the Certificate unless they accept the invite (the invitation does not seem to be emailed no matter how many times I choose "resend")?

Similarly, will they receive any Announcements from the Course if they're listed as "pending"? I've tested both of these with a personal test account and have not received the a) invitation email, b) certificate, or c) announcements, but would love to hear if anyone else has any success.
