I need to give a final exam to my students. I would like to upload the same exam, but two different versions of the quiz: one for students who have the ability to use Honorlock and another for those who do not. I have tried renaming the exam on my desktop, but Canvas recognizes it as the same test, and does not create a new version for me to assign different settings. How do I upload two versions of the same test so they can have different settings?
Hi Chelsey,
When you say that you are renaming the exam on your desktop and then trying to upload it to Canvas, I am curious what file format are you using? Is the "exam" a quiz originally created in Canvas or did it originate in another program?
It was originally created in Canvas.

Also, if you want to have it appear in the course as though two groupings of students have what looks like the same quiz but in reality each grouping has a separate quiz, a common solution is to divide the students into two or more sections and then assign two or more quizzes to only one section. That way the students only see 'their' quiz.
Are you saying - If I make two versions of the same test and only add certain students to a particular version, those in another group will not even see the version they did not get?
Thank you so much!
Kathie
Do you leverage question banks
If you do, you can easily create two different quizzes from the same questions
Then you can use the settings of a quiz to "assign to" individual students or sections
