Upside down image in annoucements

Why does it insert an image upside down?

Hi  @wagnerr ‌,

I can't say I've found the same issue with any pictures I've been uploading.  Have you tried rotating the image 180° in file explorer then uploading it?

I turned it upside down and resaved and uploaded it and it didn't make any difference in Canvas announcements. I did a search and found that others had this problem.  But there was no clear answer.  I went to crop my original picture and noticed that the size was not standard.  I set it to 4:3 and tried it again and it loaded ok this time.  I don't know if that is the solution, but it worked for me.

The Canvas announcement editor is crappy.  I usually make my announcements in word and then embed the word document into the announcement.

I just received a complaint from a faculty member who said his images, and those of his students, are coming in sideways.  I just uploaded one from Photos and it is sideways.  Unfortunately this professor teaches art so it's a bit problematic.

Anne - this happened to one of my faculty - it turned out the image was too large and Canvas was accommodating in a weird way. I reduced the overall file size so that it was smaller dimensions and it loaded correctly. It had been taken with a camera phone so it was quite large to begin with.

Thank you Cynthia - I'll try that.  It does seem odd that I've never had anyone complain about this before.
