How do you incorporate Zoom into Canvas?

Zoom is a third-party product that can be integrated into Canvas courses via LTI external app configuration.  Usually, this is set up by your school's local Canvas administrator or someone in your school's Online Learning/eLearning department.  Zoom has basic and paid licenses (see the differences between these types at Account types – Zoom Help Center).  As you can see, there are some limitations with a basic account compared to a full licensed account.

Canvas admins can set up the Zoom integration by following the steps outlined on App Marketplace: Zoom LTI Pro.  Once the app has been set up and configured by your school's local Canvas admin, a Zoom button will be available in Canvas courses where instructors can schedule their Zoom meetings as well as store recordings on the cloud.

We are very interested in doing this! We are a pretty small company which doesn’t really have a Canvas admin person – is this something someone with basic computer skills could handle? (like me?!) Also, what kind of fees are associated with the full licensed Zoom product? Any more information you could give me would be much appreciated.

You will have to get in touch with the people at Zoom about pricing options.  Plans and Pricing - Zoom and Education Plan - Zoom may be of help to you there.  At our Technical College, we've purchased a number of Zoom licenses for our faculty and staff to use so that they are not restricted by the limitations of the basic Zoom accounts as described in the link I provided to you last evening.  For example, we have a single education account, and then within there we have all of our available paid Zoom licenses which we can distribute out to our faculty and staff.

As far as the setup is concerned to connect Zoom with Canvas, it's relatively straight-forward.  There are some configuration options you will need to decide on, and then there are some things you'll have to configure in Canvas as well.  But again, it's pretty straight-forward.
