How do I remove the dash numbers on my eportfolio submissions? For example, filename-1.pdf, filename-2.pdf. I would like for it to show filename.pdf with no dash (version) number. It seems they are storing all of our deleted files on the server? Thank you.
Hello there, @rya2188368 Welcome to the Canvas Community. Thanks for posting your question. Could you please let us know if you are an instructor or a student? Also, are you using the Canvas ePortfolio interface...as described in these Guides:
I know this might not be a direct answer to your question, but I wonder if your school has taken a look at the new partnership between Instructure (the folks that make Canvas) and Portfolium. This past October at the EDUCAUSE conference, they announced that Portfolium will be free for Canvas customers. (There is a paid version which offers a few more features.) The interface is sort of like Facebook, and it offers a lot more than what the Canvas ePortfolio interface current has. I would suggest that you reach out to your school's local Canvas administrator to see if enabling Portfolium is something they would be willing to investigate. They would need to contact their Customer Success Manager at Instructure to get the ball rolling. Here's some information to share with them.
As we haven't heard back from you on this, we are hopeful that you've arrived at a solution on your own. In the interest of keeping questions flowing, we're going to mark this question as "Assumed Answered." Please feel free to come back and post a reply if you still need assistance—or post a new question to Q & A whenever you have questions about using Canvas.
