I have weekly reading quizzes for my students that have a due date (but no time limit). It seems that when a student needs an extension, the only way to do that is to create a new version of the quiz and assign it to that student alone. Am I missing an easier solution? I have 500 students so there are always going to be multiple people needing extensions -- and regenerating the quizzes for each person gets clunky.

Hi @kathyliddle - you should be able to edit the quiz, and in the settings, use the Add button to add another Assign to for the student who needs a different due date or availability dates. This is called differentiated assignments. The original Assign to will change from Everyone to Everyone else. You can do this multiple times, always adding a new Assign to - we do this a lot! Don't remove the earlier assignments, including to Everyone else, just keep adding new ones.

I don't see an Add button in settings for the quiz question, and cannot figure out how to get a differentiated assignment in quizzes. I am also trying not to create a new quiz for every student who needs an extension. The link to "How to create an assignment for an individual student" does not give directions for the differentiated assignment, but rather creating a new assignment for one student, which I am trying to avoid. The directions are also incredibly confusing to follow. I do not find Canvas or the help manual intuitive/obvious at all.
