mp4 video assignment upload

I have a presentation assignment that I am trying to upload, it is an mp4 video, and is 123 MB in size.  I keep trying to upload it but it just says "saving reply" and nothing happens, even if I let it sit for a long time (I just left my laptop for a call that last over half and hour and when I returned, it still said "saving reply."  Can someone please help, I already tried to compress the file but is it still too large?

Also, just as a note, the assignment is set up as a discussion, and we are supposed to reply and attach our file in our reply.

Are you trying to attach your video file using the steps outlined in this Guide?

How do I attach a file to a discussion reply as a student?

If so, you might want to try an alternative way of submitting your video to this discussion topic reply (assuming that your instructor would be okay with this).  Try uploading your video using these directions:

How do I upload a video using the Rich Content Editor as a student?

or

How do I upload and embed a media file from my computer in the New Rich Content Editor as a student?
