Canvas Credentials + Talent Neuron Integration FAQs Change in Our Skills Taxonomy: Enhanced Badge Capabilities with Market-Driven Skills Data |
Summary
Canvas Credentials is integrating Talent Neuron as the default taxonomy, incorporating market labor data. Additionally, a Flexible Skills option is available for custom skill definitions.
Notes:
Change Benefit
This change enhances Canvas Credentials by providing more precise and up-to-date labor market data using Talent Neuron. With broader coverage and detailed analytics, users gain a comprehensive view of global labor market trends, enabling better-informed decisions on career development and workforce planning.
Feature Workflow
Initially, a notification displays regarding the changes and available options.
If no action is taken by the Organization or the Issuer, skills are automatically migrated to Talent Neuron.
A small percentage of skills will require manual updates due to no exact match between the two taxonomies. In this case, a message displays with instructions to edit the skill [1] and badges affected are identified with a warning icon [2].
Owners within the issuer can edit the badge with the warning icon by removing the missing skill, saving the badge changes or adding skills from the new taxonomy that align with that skill.
Note: Notifications display on Badge Class and Badge Edit pages.
To add skills to a badge using the Talent Neuron taxonomy, begin typing the desired skill in the search field. Then, select the desired skill.
In Badge details, users can click the skill link to view data related to the desired skill.
Users can view market labor data related to the skill [1] and top job titles [2].
Additionally, users can view top job locations for the desired skill. To view more information related to job postings, click the desired city.
Users can view and search live job titles. Click the Apply button to view the job posting.
Issuers that wish to continue using Lightcase skills or create custom skills must select the Flexible Skills radio button on the Organization or Issuer edit pages. Lightcast skills automatically display as Flexible Skills.
When opting to use Flexible Skills, issuers can define skills by name, link a URL and include optional fields like Short Description or Framework. This link will be used when a badge viewer clicks on the skill.
Additional Details
This feature is available for Credentials users only.
