How do I properly name my Canvas assignment groups for Blackbaud grade passback?

As an instructor, your institution may have integrated the Blackbaud Student Information System (SIS) and Canvas. This integration allows Blackbaud to share enrollment and user data to Canvas. It also allows you to sync grades from your Canvas gradebook to your Blackbaud gradebook via grade passback (GPB).

However, before you can successfully use GPB, you must ensure that your Canvas assignment group names match your Blackbaud gradebook grading category names. For example, if your Blackbaud gradebook has categories named Homework, Tests, Participation, and Written Response, your Canvas assignment groups must have the same names.

Note: If enabled by your institution, you may be able to associate your Canvas assignment groups with your SIS grading categories. Learn more about the Category Sync Tool.
