Send a message to multiple courses at once

Can someone confirm for me that instructors cannot send a conversation message to all students in multiple course at once (e.g. I'm sick & class is canceled)?  I see that admins have the feature.  Is there a way to make this available to instructors (not finding any option in permissions)?

They cannot.  They used to have that ability but it was removed.  Exactly when this happened escapes me at the moment.

There have been 3 feature requests to have this back but all 3 have been archived. Feel free to comment on them, but this idea will need to be resurrected in a new feature request.

I know I've used an External Feed for Announcements in a course.  When you use Announcements in a course, you can copy the RSS Feed for that course's announcements and paste it in the External Feeds for other courses.  I don't think the replication is immediate, but it might be a trick to get one message to multiple courses.  *I'm testing this out, but it hasn't replicated yet.
