Completion did not appear in the analytics

Hi everyone,

I found out today that one of our staff members completed a course in Catalog and received a certificate of completion but their completion did not appear in the analytics report. I submit a ticket to Canvas on this but I just wanted to see if this happened to anyone else. This is the second time this has happened.

Hi Jessica,

Did you ever get an answer to this? We have had a few of these, but in all cases we could confirm, those learners had been added to the Canvas course manually. We do have "Show Canvas-enrolled courses in Dashboard" enabled, so that lets the learner see the course, but since the registration was not through Catalog, it seems they don't appear in the Analytics.

Yes, support had to fix this for us for the analytics to appear. So, if this happens to you I recommend asking support. If they are manually added in Canvas then the analytics will be not populated in Catalog. However, for our case, the students were enrolled through Catalog and then the analytics for the Catalog instance needed to be updated. We have not had any issues since. I hope this helps.

Ooh, they could make enrollments directly in Canvas appear in Catalog Analytics? That would be awesome. I may have to open a ticket about that next time this comes up. Thanks as always!

This would only be if they enrolled through Catalog though and completed the requirements in the modules.
