Edit Access from Storefront Listing Pages
Summary
An Edit button on the listing details page enables Catalog and Subcatalog Admins to manage listings directly from the Modern Storefront.
Change Benefit
This enhancement allows administrators to manage listings with fewer clicks and reduced context switching. Role-specific visibility ensures Subcatalog Admin capabilities align with assigned catalogs, supporting operational clarity and data boundaries.
Workflow
Catalog Admins see the Edit button on all storefront listing pages.
View Edit Button on Listing Details Page
Clicking the Edit button allows admins to directly edit a listing, without requiring navigation through the admin dashboard.
Notes:
- Subcatalog Admins see the Edit button only on listings associated with their managed catalog structure.
- Learners and unauthenticated visitors do not see the Edit button.
Enhanced Listing Duplication with Certificate Inheritance
Summary
The listing duplication experience in Catalog supports greater flexibility for Catalog Admins through clearer configuration options and certificate inheritance control during duplication.
Change Benefit
This enhancement provides stronger transparency and reduces post-duplication cleanup, enabling administrators to create listings that match intended certificate structures from the start while maintaining full control over when certificates are carried forward.
Workflow
View Certificate Duplication Option
The former Copy Listing option displays as Copy Existing Listing Settings to provide clearer intent. A checkbox labeled Include certificate from original listing is presented within the duplication menu, offering control over whether certificate settings are carried into the duplicated listing or omitted entirely.
Flywire and Catalog Integration
This feature is currently available in the Beta environment and the Production environment on 2025-11-17.
Summary
Canvas Catalog integrates with Flywire to support secure, localized international tuition payments. This partnership enables institutions to enroll global learners with compliant cross-border transactions and streamlined financial tracking, supporting international program growth.
Change Benefit
Institutions gain the ability to process international payments with reduced risk, simplified reconciliation, and real-time payment confirmation from within Canvas Catalog. Learners benefit from local currency options, trusted regional banking support, and clearer visibility into total costs.
Workflow
When a learner reaches checkout, Flywire appears as a supported payment method for international tuition. Learners are guided through Flywire’s localized payment experience, including currency selection and secure bank transfer options. Once payment is completed, Catalog receives real-time confirmation and records the transaction for reconciliation. Institutions interested in activating Flywire capabilities can contact their Customer Success Manager (CSM) to enable the integration and receive onboarding guidance.
Managing Subcatalog Admins API Additions
Summary
Additional capabilities are available for managing Subcatalog Admins through both the UI and API. Admins gain more control over permissions and oversight of account-level access. API support expands these actions for scalable automation and integration.
Change Benefit
Institutions with complex administrative structures can more efficiently assign and maintain subcatalog-specific admin roles. The added API endpoints enable streamlined workflows, reduce manual effort, and support enterprise-level management across systems.
Feature Workflow
Admins can manage Subcatalog Admins directly within the product, including assigning or removing administrative access to specific subcatalogs. For automated or system-driven operations, the API allows developers to list account admins, associate an admin with an account, remove that association, or remove the admin entirely. View the endpoints at Catalog API documentation.
Post-Registration User Defined Field (UDF) Updates via API
This feature is available in the Beta environment on 2025-10-28 and the Production environment on 2025-11-17.
Summary
Canvas Catalog supports editing User Defined Fields (UDFs) through the API after learner registration is complete. This capability enables updates to information such as addresses, phone numbers, and license numbers that become available later in the learner lifecycle.
Change Benefit
This enhancement streamlines data management and reduces reliance on manual updates or external workarounds. Institutions can maintain accurate and compliant learner records while improving automation across student information systems and compliance workflows.
Feature Workflow
Administrators and integration partners can update UDF values through Catalog’s API at any stage of the student lifecycle. Once submitted, these updates automatically display within Catalog records and API responses.
Additional technical guidance is available in the Catalog API documentation.
