If we have Outcomes set up in a course for assessment purposes and want to upload that course as a template to Commons for other faculty in our institution to download and use, will the Outcome setup import correctly from a course template from Commons as long as the content is imported into the correct account where the Outcomes are initially set up? or are we better off doing a direct course import rather than funneling through Commons?

When uploading a course template with Outcomes to Commons, the Outcomes setup may not always import correctly for other faculty, even if the content is imported into the correct account. Specifically, when a quiz with Outcomes is copied into other course sections, the quiz copies but the Outcomes do not always transfer with it; manual re-entry of Outcomes may be required in each course section.

Using the direct course import tool and selecting specific content (including Outcomes) provides a more reliable way to ensure Outcomes are imported and retain their associations.

Therefore, we recommend using the direct course import method rather than funneling through Commons to reliably preserve Outcomes setup and associations.
