[Assignments] "Due date cannot be before course start" error message should not exist within the "Manage Due Dates and Assign To" pop-out menu.
When editing an Assignment that has a Due Date that falls before the Start Date of the course, Canvas gives an error message of "Due date cannot be before course start." The issue is that this discrepancy rightfully disables the "Save" button due to the Due Date error, but the error message itself appears within the "Manage Due Dates and Assign To" pop-out menu. This pop-out menu is only visible if you open the menu, therefore it presents itself as only a broken "Save" button.
The error message "Due date cannot be before course start." should exist on the Edit page itself, below the "Manage Due Dates and Assign To" text, rather than within the pop-out menu itself. If presented here, the error message is immediately visible, and attention is drawn to the "Manage Due Dates and Assign To" option. This creates a better user experience and a more obvious indication of why content cannot be saved.
