[Canvas Mobile - Parent] Display the 'Front Page' if the course is in the elementary experience
For K-5 schools using the Canvas Elementary Experience, in the Canvas Parent App, elementary parents see the tabs: grade, syllabus, and summary. For middle and high schools, not using the elementary experience, in the Canvas Parent app, parents see: grades and front page. If a district is using Canvas K-12 this causes inconsistencies of the Canvas Parent app experience when parents have students across schools in the district. Also, the addition of a 'syllabus' tab in the Canvas Parent app and no 'front page' for elementary parents doesn’t fit the purpose of the app for that group of students. 'Syllabus' is not a term used in elementary schools. Having a 'syllabus' tab and not a 'front page' prevents elementary parents from accessing any modules or resources posted by the teacher within the app on a mobile phone. All parents, regardless of elementary experience or not, should have a consistent experience in Canvas and should be able to 'observe' all modules posted by the teacher.
Elementary parents should have access to the same thing as middle/high school parents in the Canvas Parent App. The Canvas for Elementary Experience should not prevent that. Instead of a 'subject home', teachers need the ability to set a 'front page' so that parents can access that 'front page' from the Canvas Parent app and see all of the modules and resources. With the high use of mobile phones, having a consistent parent experience in the Canvas Parent app across all schools is vital to the success of an LMS in K-12.
