Problem statement:

A global search/fine and replace tool is lacking in Canvas to search within all pages in a given course shelle.

Proposed solution:

Please consider coding a tool that allows users to perform global search/find and replace text in pages, assignments, and discussions. This tool would save so much time trying to track down inconsistencies that need to be corrected. Thanks for considering, Darren Chiang-Schultheiss Fullerton College

Problem statement:

When a design update is required throughout a course due to a change in policy, it is necessary to find every single instance of the policy reference, and the frequency of missing at least one copy can be high. Students end up requesting that the prior policy be applied, because that is the copy they found.

Proposed solution:

A coursewide find and (optionally) replace would allow updaters to screen all pages, assignment instructions, new quiz instructions, etc for specific text they need to update. Optionally the text could have an automatic replacement available, with a clickable list of any failed replacements similar to the course copy error messages.
