[Credentials/Badges] School Wide Attendance Badges for Tracking Excused Absences
We have professors who use an excused absence policy where students will have 3 excused absences before their grade starts to be affected. These professors would like to use this policy in their attendance in Canvas, but they need to create a badge every time they teach. They also need to know how to make a badge. Canvas offers a feature where admin can create a school wide badge, but this badge does not keep track each time it is used on a student, unlike the account level badges teachers use. We have had professors coming to us asking how to mark an excused absence. Plus they have to remake the badge for each class they teach. Faculty need an easier way to use an excused absence badge.
I want to suggest a badge that admin can create that will show up in every course in the school and keep track each time it is used. This will eliminate a step for professors and allow them to easily recognize that this is a feature they can use if they wish. This feature would be more useful than the current admin badge feature because it would keep track of each time a student is excused from an absence.
