[External Tools] Aeries Attendance Integration
Right now there is not way for a teacher to mark a student as absent or present in Canvas. This makes it challenging when students submit work late but, per my class policies, receive an extension for that assignment. I have to remember to go and cross reference Aeries any time this happens.
Allow for some means of attendance tracking for each day/for assignments in Canvas. A few ideas of how this could be done: 1. Locally in Canvas allowing for teachers to mark a student as absent and have that status appear on an assignment submission. This could be taken a step further to include a new gradebook policy that takes into account student attendance (for x many days absent they receive y many days extra before it is marked late). 2. Allow for integration of attendance data from Aeries for schools who use Aeries as an attendance platform.
