Students cannot sign up for Scheduler appointment slots using the Canvas Mobile App. This functionality is currently unsupported in the Student Mobile App (https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Resource-Documents/Canvas-Student-Mobile-Features/ta-p/388...). We have a program that uses the Scheduler functionality to schedule student appointments and office hours. Many students use their phones or tablets to access Canvas, but they cannot find the time slots to sign up for. This limitation requires program directors to provide instructions on how to exit the mobile app and log into Canvas using a mobile browser. As a result, they are finding that students are more likely to opt-out and not attend these sessions since the Scheduler slots are not easily accessible. The process seems unnecessarily complicated given that students are frequently redirected (and encouraged) from the web browser to use the student app despite this specific functionality being unsupported at present.
I propose that Instructure prioritize adding the Scheduler functionality to the Canvas Mobile App. Doing so will allow instructors and program managers to continue using Canvas as their primary communication tool for sign-ups instead of needing to seek alternate tools to fill this need/gap.
