With the welcomed increase of differentiation in Canvas (modules and paging have "Assign To" options now), sometimes teachers are running into an issue where students cannot see things they are expected to because differentiation options are on. Checking the assign to box for a page is not something easily thought of by teachers, generating course problems and support requests.
Add an indicator on the modules page "this item has differentiation" and/or "this item is not assigned to Everyone" (which can happen in unusual cases). In the long term, add a modules page view similar to the assignments area "edit assignment dates" to give a broad overview of all of your modules' differentiation.
