This idea has been developed and deployed to Canvas |
Hey, I currently work for my University teaching academics how to use Canvas and show them how to make the most of it with their respective courses. But from my background as a student in Psychology, my current University (and I'm sure others do too!) used to use Quizzes as part of assessments for things like research methods. However, as these were often multiple choice tests they would be negatively marked in order to try and prevent students simply guessing the answers. The policy of that department was to make each question worth 1 mark and then have a penalty of 0.25 if the question was answered incorrectly. If the question was unanswered then students did not receive any penalty.
I can see the benefits of using quizzes within Canvas and this feels like it would allow for greater design and ease for the users of Canvas that would make use of this feature.
