Right now for assignments, there is the option for the submission to be a "Student Annotation" which allows students to annotate (and even draw on) a pdf file the teacher uploads and then submit the pdf with their annotations for the assignment. But it is not an option for quiz questions.
It would really be helpful to allow this kind of submission for a quiz question, particularly for math and science (as it would allow students to draw graphs and diagrams). I have seen MANY math and science teachers BEGGING for some type of drawing ability for Canvas quizzes both on the feature request, general Canvas question areas, and on the internet in general. In quizzes, if a teacher links a pdf in a question, when the student clicks on it, the pdf veiwer looks almost exactly the same as what it looks like for a "Student Annotation" assignment, but it's missing the annotation tools. Since the annotation tool is already part of Canvas (in assignments), would it be hard to integrate that same tool for a Canvas quiz question? It would be an ungraded question just like the essay questions.
