[New Quizzes] allow changes to item banks

Problem statement:

Suppose you gave an online exam last year using itembanks. This year you want to try the same item bank again, but with minor changes to the questions. At the moment it is not possible to simply adjust the questions in the item banks, because “the questions have already been used in previous quizzes (which have already expired/completed by students)” and would then also be changed there. The workaround is to either copy all questions one by one to a new item bank (wasting time and beats the purpose of an item bank), or remove and reinsert the questions to be changed (also a lot of work when a lot of questions have to be changed).

Proposed solution:

Couldn't there be an easier way to change item banks? Eg: When item banks only appear in quizzes of deactivated/old courses, the questions can be changed.

We have been working on some exciting enhancements to item banks.  Coming up soon will be the ability to duplicate item banks.  If you wanted to create a different version of your item bank for a different group of students, this might be a way to do that using the same questions.

For existing item banks, you can copy the question in the item bank and make changes to the new questions.  From the article on editing an item bank item in NQ, "If students have submitted answers for an item, you can only edit a copy of the item. Editing a copy creates separate statistical data from the previous version of the item."

Thank you for collaborating, and we hope that you submit another idea in the future!
