New feature to de-identify/make markers anonymous as students are able to see who had marked their assignment.

Problem statement:

We currently have multiple markers for our assessments and students can identify our markers and are approaching them directly for an appeal. As we have a process for appeals in place, we would like to make the markers anonymous. Note instructors are unable to see who had filled out the rubric.

Proposed solution:

Feature Request: Anonymous Markers Description: Introduce a feature that allows markers to remain anonymous to students. This would include de-identifying markers on filled-in rubrics and assignment feedback, ensuring that students cannot see who marked their assignments. Benefits: Promotes unbiased grading by reducing potential bias or favoritism. Enhances privacy for markers, allowing them to provide honest and constructive feedback without concern. Encourages a focus on the content and quality of the feedback rather than the identity of the marker. This feature would be particularly useful in maintaining fairness and objectivity in the assessment process.

Hello @roland_huang -

Thank you for taking the time to share this idea with the Instructure Community.

Have you explored anonymous grading? It's currently an opt-in feature, so you may need to explore your Course Settings.

How do I add an assignment that includes anonymous grading?

How do I manage feature options for a course?

After reviewing these guides, if you're still unable to mark anynonmously, I'm happy to continue our collaboration.
