[Rubrics] Allow checkboxes and text, Assessor signature, and download that shows associated data (VET)
Rubrics can only be either checkboxes or text, which restricts their function. They cannot be downloaded as a PDF, and a screenshot does not show key data such as the date of completion, assessor name, etc. This means that for VET users, we must recreate a "rubric" outside of Canvas to meet our evidence requirements.
The adjustments outlined below could be made to make the rubric more useful to a VET assessor, but the addition of all these points in combination would allow VET Canvas users to rely on the LMS rather than sourcing other systems or programs to meet our data needs. 1. Include checkbox criteria (Satisfactory / Not Satisfactory) + written feedback in the one rubric - Assessors can then manually add the data points we need (Unit Code, Student Name, Date) 2. Download the Rubric as a PDF with all relevant data - Collect the date of completion, completed by, student name, course name, plus checkbox results and comments. VET users could then meet our evidence requirements for assessments. 3. Option to digitally sign - would make Canvas a complete LMS for VET users.
