allow quotation marks for exact phrase search

Problem statement:

I want to use the search bar on the Assignments page to find all assignments with "week 5" in the title. If I do not put quotes around the search phrase, I get assignments with titles including "week 5" but also including "week" and "5" anywhere in the title.  When I put the search phrase in quotes, for example 'week 5' or "week 5", no results appear.

Apologies, the struck-through claim above was in error. Apparently the search phrase is always treated as exact, so quotes are unnecessary. However, now the opposite case is also a problem. I have multiple assignments per week with 'transcribe' in the title, and if I want to search for them, along with 'week 5', search results are blank because another word, letter, and or symbol intervenes between 'transcribe' and 'week' in the assignment title.

Proposed solution:

Exact phrase searches using quotation marks should be respected, the quotation marks themselves should not be part of the search query, (updated) AND searches without quotation marks should not assume only exact phrase matches are desired.

Should I submit a broader idea called "make the Assignments search better"? Or I could submit three separate ideas:

1) In the Assignments search, exact phrase searches using quotation marks should be respected

2) In the Assignments search, quotation marks should not be interpreted as text in search queries

3)In the Assignments search, searches should not assume only exact phrase matches are desired
