Educators can use the IgniteAI Item Authoring Assistance feature to generate quiz questions based on their course content. Here are the steps to use this feature:
Step 1: Create a New Quiz
- Begin by creating a new quiz.
- Within the new quiz, click the "plus" button to add questions.
Step 2: Access the AI Item Authoring Tool
- Look for and click the "generate with AI" icon.
Step 3: Provide Content for the AI
- You can select course module content that you want to use to generate questions.
- Alternatively, you can input text directly or upload files like PDFs or PowerPoints.
Step 4: Define the Parameters for Question Generation
- Topic Focus: Write the specific topics you want the AI to create questions about.
- Learning Outcomes (Optional): If your course has learning outcomes, you can select them.
- Depth of Knowledge: Choose the desired depth of knowledge for the questions.
- Bloom's Taxonomy: You can also specify a Bloom's Taxonomy level.
- Language: Select the language for the questions.
- Question Type: Currently, the only available question type is multiple choice.
- Number of Items: Specify the number of questions you want to generate.
- Point Value: Set the point value for the questions.
Step 5: Generate and Review the Questions
- After setting your preferences, click "generate with AI".
- The system will display the generated questions.
- You can choose to "regenerate" the questions or, if you are satisfied, move on to editing them. The tool will allow you to edit each question individually.
Step 6: Add Questions to the Quiz
- Once you are finished editing, click "Add to Quiz".
- The newly generated questions will be added to your quiz, and they will be marked to indicate that they were generated with AI.
