Canvas Keeps Logging Me Out After 3 Days

Hi everyone,

I’ve been facing an issue where my Canvas account automatically logs out every 3 days. Each time, I get a message saying I need to log in again due to my institution's security policy (screenshot attached).

It’s becoming quite inconvenient, especially when I’m working on important tasks or assignments. I wanted to check if anyone else is experiencing the same issue or if there’s a known fix for this.

Would really appreciate it if someone could guide me or share if they’ve faced something similar.

Thanks for asking on the Instructure Community!

This is something that is set up by your school and is not directly a part of Canvas. It appears that you are using a SSO provider (in this case, google) to sign into Canvas, and since it is set-up by your school, the only option would be to reach out to your school's IT department for assistance. However, since it's a security policy, it might not be able to be changed. 

I'm a college student like you are, and we have similar policies, and so I totally understand your frustration.
