It would be incredibly useful to be able to create bespoke requirements - whilst I appreciate the 3 current options (which are colour coded versions of the same template) having the flexibility to define what fields a student must complete and what they should put in each would make the tool much more useful.
Hi @JosephSpink
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback with us! I’d love to better understand what you’d like to achieve with bespoke requirements: is the goal to help learners know exactly what to do?
At the moment, learners essentially have two free text fields they can use: one is the description, and the other is specific to reflections. I’m wondering if these bespoke requirements could be clarified by the educator in the instructions when creating the evidence requirement. Let me know what you think!
Ideally a "Blank" New Requirement option would allow us to build a bespoke structure for student response. This would marry up with functionality found in other portfolio systems, but more importantly give us the opportunity to create more specific frameworks for student responses.
Whilst "Description" and "Reflection" are both common response fields the more you drill down into discipline specific porfolios the more requests for tailored reponses we'd get. It would also help from a student focus perspective to be able to lock in on what is required from one particular field, rather than having to refer back to the instructions each time to see what should go where.
The option to specifcy a dedicated number of "response blocks" and then what is required (text, image upload, file upload etc) woul be really useful.
I just want students to write a weekly reflection - no skills, no evidence, no collaborators, no external links. And I want to be able to put a scaffold into each week that is slightly different - that is something you can currently do.
And then ideally I'd like to be able to mark the semester set of reflections as a single piece and not have to click through each entry.
