Hi @degley

Per the Attendance (Roll Call) guide,

"In the List View, you can take attendance by toggling the correct mark next to each student's name [1]. Click the attendance mark until you arrive at the desired mark:

  • To mark the student as present and on time, click one time (green check mark icon).
  • To mark the student as not present, click two times (red X icon).
  • To mark the student as late, click three times (orange clock icon).
  • To unmark the attendance status, leave the button as the default (gray no symbol icon). The unmarked attendance status also indicates an excused absence."

The "badge" feature (what ever that is) does not work.

However, on the Student view, it does not show as "Excused." Every Student that has been marked that way has sent me a note about it.

Why is there NOT a button that says, "Excused." Every scholastic institution in the nation allows for "Excused Absences" (like severe illnesses or school sponsored functions). Every OTHER attendance feature in every OTHER online interactive learning system has an "Excused" button in their attendance subroutine. Why is there NOT an "Excused" button on Canvas?

It has taken almost one year to respond to this message.

May we assume by that silence that the Attendance feature in Canvas should be updated with an "Excused" button as soon as possible?
