Big Blue Button Analytics and Recording Student Activities

We are using BBB recorded analytics to evaluate if a student participated in class discussions/Talk. For some students I see lots of activities in the Talk section while I don't remember they said anything during the session. I am wondering even if the student's Mic is muted but they talk, BBB analytic Dashboard is still recording it. Has anyone experienced that? and if so, what are the ways to troubleshoot this that the student do not receive points for talking outside of the classroom/session? Thanks
