Can you make assignments worth only a certain % out of 100 without making it its own assignment group?

I have a test that I do as a quiz in canvas and I have a hands on portion. Is there a way in canvas to make the hands on assignment only 5% of the total score and the actual test 95%. I do not want to make assignment groups for each test so I can do this. I need all the tests to be 80% of the grade. I don't want them all weighted the same. Is there a way to do this?

Howdy  @haliehagerty ‌,

The easiest way to do what you are looking to do is to weight your actual points within the weighted assignment groups. For example, if you make the hands on assignment within that weighted assignment group worth 5 points and then make the actual test 95 points.

Assignments within a weighted assignment group are weighted by their point value. You can see a further explanation in the blue box on this page:
