[ARCHIVED] Cannot add students to a course

I need to add students to a course. This is a simple routine task.
Today after adding the email, verifying or providing the student name and setting the role to Student, I receive a red error message that says INTERNAL ERROR. The class needs to begin within a few hours. I have tested and I can add students to other classes.
I have started a support ticket but I have no idea if the response will be within hours or days.
Any suggestions on how I can resolve this issue?

Are you teaching your own course through the Canvas Free accounts or are you teaching at an institution? I teach at a community college, and the rosters are uploaded for us. We cannot add students to our Canvas courses ourselves.
