Checking individual student work

Why did canvas check the format of checking each student's assignments?  You used to be able to click on each student to see if they handed something in.  It seems like you now have to go to speed grader to do that.  Can somebody please clarify?

There haven't been any changes in the way you view students submission.  Can you explain a bit more what it is you were looking for?
