Hi,
I'm using Canvas-Panopto integration and I want to change what folder is displayed in the Panopto Video tab. Is it possible to change the folder that is displayed there?
Thanks.
Solved! Go to Solution.
It has been a while since I worked with Panopto directly(I use zoom which panopto allows me to set up a transfer of the recording directly to my panopto file structure in a course), but isn't there an option when you setup the recording to select the folder where the video will go?
If so, then you should be able to make the change there. Then all new videos go to whatever folder you decide.
Also, If you want to (not sure how this will work with your current setup), I believe that you can move the folder to a new location within your panopto structure.
For Your folder A That you want to move, go into Folder A and then click on the gear for the settings. You will see the name of the folder and the parent folder. click on edit for the parent folder and select the new parent folder from the list or start typing in the folder name you want to move the current folder to.
I hope that is clear enough to do what you want (if it is possible). If not reply back again and we will see what else happens.
Edit: Additionally it is possible to easily bulk move videos from one panopto folder to another. If you want those instructions, I will post that information
@amit1 -
I am not sure what you mean by change the folder displayed when you click on the panopto link. Can you provide some more information on what you want to do?
You can create sub-folders(directories) on that panopto page displayed where you can put different videos into the course under those folders(directories).
I
@Ron_Bowman thanks for the clarification. I already have an existing Panopto folder (call it folder A) that has the videos that I want to share (and new videos are uploaded to this existing folder). The Panopto Videos tab on Canvas currently displays a different folder that was created by default when I added the Panopto tab to Canvas, and is currently empty (call it folder B). I was wondering if it's possible to set it up such that this existing folder A will be shown under the Panopto tab in Canvas, rather than the default empty one (folder B). Folders A and B are not sub-directories of each other. I don't want to move the videos from folder A to folder B (and prefer not to copy them either).
Does that make sense? Do you know of any solution for it?

Hi, I am a new user of this learning community so apologize if this post should be done in a different way:
I also have the question about Panopto folder display. When i create a Canvas course and enable Panopto Video, it shows a folder unique to the canvas site (course/term, etc). When I upload videos, they are shown automatically there, which is fine.
However, what I want to do is to link a directory under "My folder" in Panopto, which contains 100+ video solutions for examples or demos. Let's call it "Subj-master" directory. What's more, I'd like other instructors who teach the same course (but different sections) to provide the same "Subj-master" directory to students on their course site. How do I do that? (This is almost like a "soft-link" to a directory somewhere else on the Panopto universe.)
(I could link videos to modules but I don't know if all sections will be able to follow on a weekly basis. We are also not planning to merge our Canvas sites. What I'd like to have is for all section students to access the Panopto folder, so they can go look for the videos they need.)
Thanks in advance,
