Cross-Listing After Entering Grades

Good morning -
I have a question about cross listing. I have two courses - A and B. Course B did not have anyone in until yesterday so I never cross listed it. The first two weeks of school I had entered grades in for Course A, and yesterday I had a student enrolled in Course B. Yesterday, I made Course A the parent class and cross listed it with Course B since it now had a student. The student was previously in Course A - so I figured out how to update the old grades and sync them to my SIS. But now newly created assignments (meaning after I cross listed) are showing as greyed out and unable to sync.
Am I unable to cross-list after I start grading assignments? Or is there something I am missing? Should I just de-cross list and import the material?
