Email student list in canvas summer course

I'm trying to email the whole class for a summer 2020 course. Students are signed up and listed. But when I generate a new email, it only brings up the 2 instructors (me being one) and no student option?

Hi,  @theresa_snellin . Based on the description I think it may be because the course is unpublished. Check out the responses to this similar question, Does a course have to be published to use the Inbox?
