What is the difference between the Total and the Overall categories in the gradebook?

I only see a total column in my gradebook. It is possible that your institution has added another overall column. Or you are using a gradebook view that I am unfamiliar with. Have you tried asking the Canvas Administrators at your institution?

That explains why I can't find anything in the Canvas guides. I will ask my admin. Thanks!

Glad to hear that you checked the guides. I did to and could not find anything in there either. Once you find out what the overall column is, let us know.

Just out of curiosity(though you would know this I hope) - you did not have an assignment group named "Overall" do you?
