Grades from a rubric?

After grading a submission with the rubric the grade does not automatically populate to the box above the rubric to record the grade. How can this be changed?

Hello there,  @mjeasterly  Welcome to the Canvas Community.  Thank you for posting your question.  Please check the following in your course:

1. Navigate to your assignment in your course.
2. Click on the pencil icon at the top right corner of the attached rubric to edit the rubric.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the rubric.
4. Do you have the option to "Use this rubric for assignment grading" checked?  If not, you will need to place a check-mark in the box.
5. Click on the "Update Rubric" button.

You will now be able to use the rubric for grading, and it should populate that score in the SpeedGrader as you are using the rubric to grade.
