[ARCHIVED] Grayscale jpgs display with a sepia tone in discussions and submissions

When my students upload/embed jpgs of grayscale Illustrator artwork, they often display with a sepia tone; the brownish tone appears randomly, it seems to me, so it's hard to test why it's happening. I want my students to care about how their work looks, so I'd like to figure this out--has anyone else had the problem?
