How can I get YouTube links to work on a mp4 video created from a Powerpoint voiceover?

I have numerous hyperlinks embedded in my PowerPoint presentations that don't work when the PPT is converted to video. Is there a way to pause the video and make the hyperlink work?

Did you try to change the format, and see if it works? In most of the cases, I think that this would work, but you can't know until you try it. There might other solutions, but it's better to start with this one, because it's the most simple and obvious. For the future, I would recommend you to use another app for downloading videos from YouTube, like YouTube to mp3 converter, which I was using for a long time already, and never encountered this kind of errors, everything works perfectly.
