[ARCHIVED] How do I block Observer role access to some courses and not others?

Good day everyone,

For courses such as Health or other courses where the student may not share if they know they Parent can see what they write, is there a way of blocking Observer access for that particular less or assignment?  I'm working from an Admin role

As far as I know, the only way to do this would be to manually remove the observer from the course.

Hi @kmeeusen 

Thanks for responding to my question.  I've also discovered that the Observer role permissions are granular enough that 'discussion' forums can be turned off for that role, so that may be one way of dealing with this issue.  I'm a bit surprised that @canvas does not seem to have permissions for content access at the assignment level?
