I am trying to create a quiz. Other courses I teach use Examsoft which allows an upload of a properly formatted exam as a .rtf file. From there I can edit questions, build an assessment, etc., as needed. Is there a way to do this in Canvas, or, do I have to enter and retype/copy/paste each question and multiple choice entry individually? Thank you.

This can be accomplished in Canvas, but the file upload type must be .uti. ExamView and TestGen are two of the applications I am familiar with that support UTI. There is a nice discussion in response to someone else's similar question at Importing Quizzes/Tests from ExamView which you might find helpful. While the process is slightly different for each application, the Canvas operations will be the same.

Hello @daniel_peters ...
In addition to the helpful information you've received from @kmeeusen , I'll also share with you a blog entry I wrote a while back called Batch Uploading Quiz Questions with Respondus that may be of interest to you. Keep in mind, as I state in my blog, that the Respondus 4.0 Exam Authoring Tool software is a paid product.
