I need the total sum of points for completed assignments.

There are lots of ways that you can get it.

The simplest may be to go to the gradebook and click on the total for the student.

If you are using weighted assignment groups, then you cannot get the total for the student because this number is meaningless. You can however get the total for each assignment group.

In this example, the student has 189.3 out of 220 possible points.
