How do I handle different discussion and answer dates?

I have set up 5 forums for students to post their discussion questions for those weeks. I want everyone to have time to post, to read, to think, and then to answer. How do we do that with the deadline problem?

Before, I made the deadline for all the final one: the day the answer was due. However, that doesn't help with the need to have people post the questions on time. Has that issue been dealt with?
