How do I weight separate assignments in single (weighted) Assignment Group?

I have a single "Extra-credit" Assignment Group, worth 7% of the Final Grade.  I want to give 2 extra credit assignments: one that is weighted at 2% and another weighted at 5%.

In other words:

"EXTRA-CREDIT" (EC) ASSIGNMENT GROUP = 7% TOTAL

EC #1 (however many points) = 2%

EC #2 ( " " " ) = 5%

How do I do this?

To set relative weights for assignments within the same assignment group, you can set different points possible. Any 2:5 ratio in the points possible for EC #1 & EC #2 should achieve your desired result, e.g. 2 points & 5 points, or 20 points & 50 points. As long as you give students scores on both assignments, the different points possible will take care of the weighting. (If you graded one EC assignment and leave the other ungraded, then the graded assignment's possible/earned point ratio will be multiplied by the assignment group's 7% weight.)

Thanks for the reply!  I think, this might be helpful.

I'm not, however, fully understanding how to do the ratio, or how it works. (Math is not my forte.)  For example, what if each assignment were 100 pts.?  Or, would I have to orchestrate the point-value, so that each matched up with the total percentage that I wanted for the group?

If you want to score your EC assignments on 100 point scales and also have them contribute 2% and 5% toward the weighted final score, I see two options:

1. Use display grade as percentage & set the points possible at 2 & 5.
2. Create an assignment group for EC 1 worth 2% & an assignment group for EC 2 worth 5%. Make assignments worth 100 points in each group.
