Specifically, I currently use Speedgrader to comment on, and rubrics to score, essays submitted. I also link essay rubrics to Learning Outcomes. Turnitin LTI 1.3 says Speedgrader and rubrics will no longer work. That says to me that grading will only take place in Turnitin, which I have never used for that purpose before (I have been using it just as a tool for students prior to final essay submission). I can't find documentation that tells me how grading will be transmitted to Canvas, if I can override an essay grade in Canvas, and if I can still use the Learning Outcomes Gradebook. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Hello @waterrat - As we use the Canvas Framework my workflow is different than what you are describing. Everything we do is within Canvas (rubric, comments, markup, scoring). As for the Turnitin Canvas LTI 1.3, I went over the Turnitin help site and found a few guides that will be of interest. These are:

Turnitin also has discission forums on their site: https://turnitin.forumbee.com/category/canvas-migrations
I hope these are useful! ~ Jeff
I appreciate your trying to help, however I am not sure what you mean when you say your workflow is different from mine. I too do everything within Canvas - Speedgrader is inside Canvas - and I am used to doing all the rubrics, comments, markups, and scoring inside Canvas. I have already read all the links you supplied and because my question isn't answered there, I reached out here.
In those links, Turnitin says that under LTI 1.3 we will no longer be able to do essay scoring, comments, and markup in Canvas, so I was hoping someone who is using 1.3 currently or is familiar with it could tell me how it works, where students will see my comments, and how grades will sync back.
I will also ask the question in the Turnitin forum, so thanks for that link and for trying to help, but I'm still looking for an answer.
Hello! There are different ways to integrate Turnitin with Canvas as well as different Turnitin products. We use the Canvas Plagiarism Framework with their Originality product and I am presuming your institution has the Turnitin Canvas LTI 1.3 installed and uses the Feedback Studio solution. While my grading, rubrics, and feedback are seen within the Canvas SpeedGrader, when the Turnitin Feedback Studio is used grading is done outside Canvas.
With the upgrade to the 1.3 LTI Turnitin changed how the Canvas LTI functions. This is why the interface has changed.
A few details on the different products and contact info are here: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Partner-Listings/Partner-Listing-Turnitin/ta-p/444809
I am using the same LTI as you are. Everything you are describing is what I already know. With all due respect, you aren't answering my questions about what will change when/if my college moves to LTI 1.3. It seems you don't have any experience with the changes that LTI 1.3 will bring, so please let me hear from people who have some experience with it.
Hallo again @waterrat - may I suggest contacting your IT team or Canvas administrator to clarify the installation and license? It would be something such as these here:
When doing so I suggest asking that they install the new tool to the Canvas testing server to enable faculty such as yourself to preview the tool. This is a best practice as then we have first hand experience.
May I also suggest referencing the page I shared for the Turnitin support contact information. If you have not done so, send them your questions.

Have a great day! ` Jeff
I have tried to be polite. How can I get you to stop responding to my question? You are not helping me.
