How is to that there is zero tech support? I have searched Canvas and all I get is crowd sourcing, with no ability to reach tech support ????

 @rbenton ‌, the resources that display on the Help menu are customized by your school based on their agreement with Canvas. I can see the aforementioned telephone and chat support options on the Help menu, and clicking on the Help link that displays under the login screen also reveals them: Log In to Canvas 

Upon searching the Salem State website I found this page:
