How to mark mass missing assignments for paper/project assignments that are past the due date?

I'm so tired of having to mark individual assignments missing- one at a time. Especially teaching a class where 1/3 to 1/2 the class does not turn in assignments on time. I would love to mass assign the missing designation with a "zero" for missing assignments.

Unfortunately, that only applies to "online" submissions.

You can use the "default grade" functionality ( https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Instructor-Guide/How-do-I-set-a-default-grade-for-an-assignment-i... ) to award a 0 to all those students who have not turned in a paper, but there's no way to apply a "missing" flag by default.

Hi @CHARLESMCCLELLA - While this isn't an immediate solution, there is an Idea open for conversation that matches this request: Set Default Grade- Include Excused, Late, & Missing  If this Idea fits, please consider adding your use case and rate (star) the idea.
